Hey what can I say? I'm on a roll here! Nah I'm just killing some time trying to figure out texturing my Litt. B loco and if completing other projects.Ok ok I'm pretty sure there is no prototype for this, just worked from a little piccy on the net that I found appealing. 'Tis a freelancer so sue me. I did a search for pics of USRA 0-6-0 on Google, came up with many pics that seems you are right. Some things I gotta tinker with to make it look allright tho.Edit: But then again, why not make a freelance 0-6-0 based on the USRA design?Also I found this pic that shows alot of detail and I'll use it to get an idea of details I missed./JonatanSteam rules!

Cool Jonatan! Looks like a USRA engine. I have UP drawings for their 0-6-0 which is considerably different from a USRA 0-6-0. But USRA 0-6-0's don't have the slope back tank so yours is kind of a mix! On the UP ones, the locomotive itself is shorter, but tall.I also have PERFECT whistles sounds for one too, as I have the EXACT same type of 5-Chime whistle that UP put on theres. Hey Jonatan...Looks fantastic - I don't know how you find the time...Just an FYI: I recently purchased a book with hundred's of US Steam locomotive plans in it... Nice sized plans with locomotives of all different types... From a little Shay to a Big Boy... If you haven't seen it - you may want to take a look... I already have my eye on a few...

Well if it was USRA and had a slope back that's only because it was a preference of the railroad, or the original tank was damaged beyond repair. Why can't you ALSO do a UP 0-6-0? Made FROM that current one. Release them as two separate ones. You seem to be cranking loco's out pretty damed fast here. It wouldn't take much to do a UP one. If you asked me to make something, and I could do it as fast as you seem to be able to do, I would, especially if it's a little 0-6-0.Kevin Bush,

I have ADHD, and I don't want to take meds for it. I struggle in school but, my life is fine the way I am. Sure I get distracted easily, and am KIND OF hyper sometimes. Jonatan, ett tips angående ritningar.
Kolla på ditt lokala bibliotek, avdelningen Prb.
Kom även ihåg att du kan fjärrlåna från andra bibliotek.
En mycket intresant bok är Linn H Westcott's "Model Railroder Cyclopedia: Steam Locomotives". Jag har haft den på fjärrlån vid tillfälle, kommer inte ihåg vilket bibliotek det är som har den men det kan de hitta. Numera har jag mitt eget ex, fullspäckad med ritningar av olika amerikanska ånglok. Finns även en Cyclopedia över diesellok men den vet jag inte om den finns på fjärrlån.

Coolt men det enda loket som jag troligtvis bygger från ritning är nog B-loket. Allt annat vill jag bygga efter huvud.Swedish language! ^Edit: One thing about me; I have never built from any blueprints in my life, not caring if it's LEGO, Meccano, plastic models or anything, I allways build from my head making custom designs or slightly modifying existing ones and will remain doing so as long as I live. Like it or not but that's how I'm gonna be, no use of telling me about blueprints cause I'll never use 'em. /JonatanSteam rules!

This is nothing against you Jonatan or anyone else for that matter, but I hear people say this all the time, and actually the reason I know this is because I was once corrected. A lot of people (i'm not saying you think of them this way) seem to think if they have the "Blue-Prints" of something, they have something original. Something worth a lot of money. When actually, the blue prints are merely copies. I have ORIGINAL U.P. drawings in the basement of my house. Some. Not many, but some. My dad got them along time ago. They aren't blue at all. They are cloth linens. Very fragile. They almost seem like really thick wax paper. An educated person (that knows something about drawings I mean) would not look at those and call them blue prints, they'd call them what they are...drawings. Now you guy's know! Please check your autoback folder under gmax very soon(before you open any more files) and try opening the gmaxhold.gx, autoback1.gx autoback2.gx, etc. before giving up(I've saved many corrupted files this way) PS: Great work on the loco, I hope you can save it

Sorry to hear it crashed on you.
Unfortunately a common problem with the MSTS plug-in for gmax.My point before was not just for drawings of actual prototypes but the "Model Railroder Cyclopedia: Steam Locomotives" also has much information on various details like piping, hand rails, compressors and feed water heaters. There are practices and laws that will make a free lance engine more plausible if followed. Besides 'forever' is a very long time and your views might change.Talking of freelance engines, I could do with a Mastodon (#34) if you are looking for a project.
