Again, my first car using TSM and I can't get the wheels to turn. I've done everything that I have read in tutorials and feel that something was overlooked. Could this be as easy to fix as the bounding box by crunching some numbers somewhere? I need help!John

RE: wheels won't turn

John
I'm a little rusty in my TSM but IIRC wheel animation has to do with how the parts are named, for example a standard 4 wheel truck(bogie)
the frame itself would be bogie1,the first wheel set would be wheel1.1 and the second set would be wheel1.2, the second truck under the car would be bogie2 wheel2.1 wheel2.2 .
Try playing around with the naming conventions and that should work.Gary S

Thanks for the try Gary, but I am aware of all you said and have tried that already. Don't suppose the hand brake is set and I don't know how to release it? John, a 68 year old curmudgen (GET THE HELL OFF MY LAWN, YOU BRATS)

Please forgive me if you've done this, but did you set the animation frames to 9? This is done by pressing 'C' to convert, then selecting 'Project Properties'. I know this is obvios, but I've overlooked it more than once. Otherwise, I can take a look at the file for you, if you like.Cheers,
Matt Austin

Geez, the answer to your problem is far more simple. Click on File>Project Properties, and then check the box for complex objects. It should have a check mark in it, otherwise it treats it as a static object.Ted Curphey

RE: wheels won't turn

Ted,
You should go to Abacus and find the upgrade of TSM to v1.1. If does not have a "complex Objects", and is easier to use.
Paul.

I use 9 Frames for animating my wheels. There should not be any decimal places in your wheel names. If you set up the animation frames the wheel numbers can be any number between 1 and 99. If you use the "set" numbers then they are 1,2,11,12,21,22,31,32. Some are reserved for engines also I believe.

RE: wheels won't turn

I want to thank all who have tried to help. First thing I did was to get version 1.1 of TSM and the second was to start over and build slightly different. Thanks again and if I run into trouble you can bet I'll be back asking questions.John
