I had a quick question.
Is there a way to make the MSTS 487, and the 463 smoke like the real ones do? If I plan to make this route as real as posible, I feel the smoke effects should look as real as posible. I'm talking about smokin' up the valleys...........Maybe not that bad, but, you know what I mean.http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/12681.htmlDRGW489

RE: K-36, and K-27 Smoking

Hello,I know nothing about adjusting smoke in a .eng file, but I DO know that that's where you need to look into. If you ever become a fireman out there while i'm there too, don't do what some of those guys do (this is hard to prevent from doing though) and pour coal in the firebox for 5 minutes and then sit down for 5 minutes or more, then fall asleep! Fire lightly and often. You will keep a cleaner fire that way. Making a bunch of smoke doesn't help. It only help photographers, that's it. It will also make everything much dirtier. Just do like 3 scoops every 45 seconds or so, or maybe 3 BIG scoops every minute. "White and bright" as they say. That's you goal for firing. A nice blanket of coal, evenly spread out over the grates. That's MUCH easier to do with a locomotive equipped with a stoker, but can be done with a shovel!See you in Chama, Antonito next summer?Kevin Bush,

I will have my hand on the throttle of a K-36 very soon Mon Freunds!
