Can any one do this to a little swiss steam locomotive? http://www.dself.dsl.pipex.com/MUSEUM/LOCOLOCO/swisselec/swisselc.htm?How common was this and did it work well or was it one of those failers? This is a funny little loco http://www.pernet.net/~james1/v-8/v-8steam.htm.

Didn't Pacific Electric have a couple of 0-6-0 steam switchers with trolley poles? I think they were used to operate the signal system, and not to generate steam.

Not shure. All I know is the Swiss one uses power to make steam from the over head wires.
