Yesterday I went down to the Belfast Moosehead Lake Railroad train station and got some great shots of the trains there including a shot from inside the cab of a deisle locomotive which I was able to take a ride in. And I wil be trying to model these trains for Train Simulator...Hopfully.

RE: Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad

if ya dont live in Maine, youll still be lost on where it is. it is located in Burnham Maine, Connects with Guilford there. It runs from there to Belfest Maine, and along the Moosehead Lake in Rangley Maine. its a nice route even on the road.

Ummm, better check that map again. Moosehead Lake isn't in Rangeley. That'd be Mooselookmeguntic. Western part of the state. Sandy River country. Moosehead Lake, as I'm sure you know, is in central Maine just north of Guilford.Different mooses!Rick Grout

RE: Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad

Pretty bad when someone from Oregon has to correct a location in Maine. Just kidding Shawn. Where are you and Caleb from. I'm originally from Aroostook County, just inside the county line from Penobscot county. I know the areas well. Have travelled the route as well and was a very scenic run. I do believe Okrasa to be correct in that those are of Swedish origin. I remember reading about the line some years back. Live in Virginia now. Too old to take the cold winters anymore. But still have a soft spot in my heart for the B and A and the Maine Central. I won't comment on the Guilford line. Don't want to waste my time. RE: Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad

Thanks Caleb. Been to Belfast many times. Love the area. All my kids graduated from Old Town so I call that my home although was born in Aroostook County myself. Anyway thanks for the reply. Nice to see the Maine people here. Tim"May the great BNSF 38 pumpkin carry you to your new home, Cyndi and may you engineer her for an eternity"

The rail car is a Budd RDC which have been modeled, you can find it in the file library. The diesel is a GE 70ton switcher, there is one on the pages of Sacramento Locomotive works, http://www.sacramentolocomotiveworks.com/locomotives.html .The steam engine is a Swedish class B engine, don't think there is any model of that. Surely would be appreciated by the Swedish community as that was one of the most common steam engines in Sweden. The passenger cars are also of Swedish origin, don't know the exact type but there might exist models of it. I believe both steamer and passenger cars were bought from the Swedish State Railways (SJ) when old equipment was sold out.

A quick look at a Swedish site confirmed the passenger cars; http://msts.e-buzz.net/portal/DL_showall.asp?cat_id=59&parent_id=14&sub_name=Personvagnar&parent_name=2+MS+Trainsimulator+%2D+Lok+och+vagnar .
Any of the six first downloads on that page contains cars of the correct type. From what I can see behind the steam engine you would be best of with the last download of those six which is how they looked in the sixties.

Yes, you're right. The B isn't modelled yet but the F is in the works. We hope to have a B soon as well. Glad to see our engines are used elsewere. /JonatanSteam rules!

RE: Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad

Thanks Shawn, I know where that is but have only been there a couple of times. Nice to see some Maine people here. But am not a fan of the Guilford System. I think they ruined the train service in Maine and New Hampshire. Just a personal thing, no reflection on you or what you like. I just like the days of the B and A and the Maine Central is all. Thanks for the reply though. Glad to see you here! Tim"May the great BNSF 38 pumpkin carry you to your new home, Cyndi and may you engineer her for an eternity"
