D&RGW / SP KM-4000 In Production – image 1

Hi all,My DH-643 (see previous posts) is now complete and awaiting lighting and physics! To continue with the oddball locomotive theme, I thought I'd give everyone a glimpse of one of four different units. Here is the D&RGW KM-4000. Rio Grande only had these units briefly, and they were sold to Southern Pacific.I will be creating four different models of these beasts - D&RGW Phase I and II in Cab format and Southern Pacific in both Cab and Hood configurations. Here's a shot of my loco testing in MSTS as well as shots of the locos I will be building.Comments and suggestions are welcome.Credits to Bob Dengler and the Collection of John W. Rosser for the photos. Also a big thanks to Chuck for the specs.Brian

Hi All,I have decided to temporarily halt production on these beasts. There is another user who has them almost finished, and they are really, really excellent models. Here's the link to the other models:http://www.3dtrains.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=45&t=4206&s=46825d16236ab85b18ab2aeac2c8ef3bLike I said, I'll concentrate on other projects for the time being. For now, enjoy the upcoming release of these models! Brian.

SP 9802 was an ALCO DH643 Diesel-Hydraulic. They were nicknamed "alco-haulics." It would be nice to see some rare Alco diesel models made.Mark
