I've got a silly little question. Is it possible to make a steam locomotive blow fire or sparks out of it's stack?

I have seen sparking pantographs, so if a similar aproach was taken it might. Also, you could put a flashing light near the outlet, or possibly a animation. Each has it's limitations, but this is not my stong point so it would be best to let an expert answer, but as commonly said in the forums "just my 2 cents!"-Alexander NHtrain

Sparks might be more difficult but a 'flickering glow' (as in 'firebox flicker' is not very difficult. It's all done in the 'lights' section.
Any specific loco?? ..maybe I could help!!

There is a locomotive I'd like to put a flickering glow above the stack on the BR 18 6.

I downloaded some GWR engines from UKTrainsim, that have incredible lighting effects, including a glow from the smokestack, and reflections of the firebox flicker on the landscape, trees and bridges as it passes through. Really impressive.
This is a Great Western King class by Robin Howell, and the lighting was done by Daniel Wookey. Note the lighting on the trestle stringers.Tim
