RE: Something from down under

Very Nice!...
one question, may have been answered someplace already..
The scheme on that loco looks similar to that of the Virginian railway here in the US... is there a relation between that railroad and the one you modeled here or is it a coincidence?

LAST EDITED ON May-13-04 AT 05:21 PM (EDT)

When the Victorian Railways started plans for dieselisation, they chose a slightly modified version of the Erie Lackawanna scheme below;Something from down under – image 5This was a good choice as the Australian cab units looked great in this scheme. I'm sure there are many who have never seen this particular loco, a double-ended cab unit! The VR B class is a thing of beauty!Something from down under – image 6This colour scheme was used on all VR diesel-electric locos (as well as the L class electric) until new colours were introduced in the early 1980s. It is still seen today in preservation, as well as being carried by a small number of locos which have been returned to service. I'm not sure if there is a link between the Erie Lackawanna and the Virginian, but that is more likely than a link between the Virginian and the Victorian Railways.Cheers,
Matt Austin

RE: Something from down under

Are you thinking about doing any flattop T's (First Series) ones James? They would be awesome, then we'd have 3 awesome T class series in MSTS.
