Jonathan, give us a report on the 463. I know how it's coming but let's let the others know...and lets let them know what other engine numbers we're going to do on that other than 463. I was planning on doing 464 with the footboard pilot and power reverse when it was on switching duty in Durango...Thanks,The K-28's coming along too by the way...more on that later.Kevin Bush,

I will have my hand on the throttle of a K-36 very soon Mon Freunds!

Just to let everyone know 463 is almost finished. The tender just needs to have textured and the loco is going to be re-animated.I will try and post some screenshots some time tomorrow as I don't have enough time now.http://groups.msn.com/MSTSNarrowGauge (Now being updated more oftern)

I think it looks pretty good - the textures seem to be just about right. I'm looking forward to being able to run it. AndyBTW - you're missing an "r" in your NGVW sig graphic...

Jonathan, send me it again. I think since it is being "re-animated" I am going to quick put my newer counter weights on it...and do some other moving around on it real quick...nothing big just some quick things I have noticed that need to be done that I didn't do before...Kevin Bush,

RE: D&RGW K-27 Mudhens

I don't know about the tender. For one I think it is too dark. And it also looks too tall but I think the 463 as a whole looks great. I can't wait to run it. One question, did you fix the problem with the auto fireman that the 455 had? You know where it would always make max steam even if you don't need it. Anyway looking good Jonathan, keep up the good work!

I agree I think it is a bit tall but I didn't make. I will try and make it a bit smaller and lighten up the textures (Everyone always thinks my textures are to dark(!)). I never noticed a problem with auto fireman in 455 but I am sure you have spent more time driving to from me. I think I will need Bill Hobbs (please reply if you read this) to help to fix the problem.http://groups.msn.com/MSTSNarrowGauge (Now being updated more oftern)

Also Jonathan, why didn't you use any of my textures that I made for except the cab ones? I hate the backhead on that...looks like a toy. Use my cab photo. Get on MSN sometime soon if you can...I am going to send you new textures...we need new boiler textures I think. Nothing against Jon, but I will have you all know that I was the one that totally re-did that thing. They are Jonathans textures but...again Jonathan nothing against you or anything.Kevin Bush,

RE: RE%253A D%2526RGW K-27 Mudhens

Well Mr. Bush, after watcing a movie yesterday I have noticed that the tender is taller than I realized, sorry about that. And Jonathan, follow up on the textures Kevin is talking about. It is looking good guys. Oh yea, if you run auto fireman and turn on F5 you will see that the steam that you make is always at 30,000 even if you are drifting down grade. I don't know but I don't think that the D&RGW like you using all of that water. Keep up the good work.

Animation is underway. What you might want to do is get the new counterweights on, then send me a TSM file with JUST the new drivers, so I can incorporate the new shapes without having to re-animate the whole thing.Cheers,
Matt Austin

RE: RE%253A D%2526RGW K-27 Mudhens

Ok I will make a whole new main axle set tonight.....One other thing that needs to be done is the combination lever and combination link needs to be turned around. It's totally wrong. Look at any photo of a mudhen and look very closely if you don't know a whole lot about valve gear, you will see the mistakes. If you want to correct them real quick before you finish animating, that would be very nice....Kevin Bush,

RE: RE%253A D%2526RGW K-27 Mudhens

Actually you know what, I have my own mudhen that has a little bit better valve gear. What if I took everything but the whole chassis in TSM and sent it to you to incorporate in with Jonathans? I'm talking the whole chassis, drivers, cylinders......Kevin Bush,

I know this is off the subject of the K27, but as Matt is now animating the K27 I have been working on some more C&S NG rolling stock. I have now finished C&S 68 and built a totally new C&S box car with no parts copied in from anything else.Below are a few screenshots. I think I will upload them both together.

Hi guys,Animation is coming along well. What I've done is delete all parts not pertaining to the drivers and motion. You'll be able to import it into your K27.dst file after deleting the corresponding parts. It makes it easier to do if there are no distractions. I've reworked some of the bits in accordance with pictures I have and the animation is well unerway. I'll be offline next week, but it should be ready next weekend.Cheers,
Matt

Hi guys,The animation is done, although there are a number of other improvements I'd be able to make. Kevin, thanks for your kind offer of parts, I found it easier to just modify the ones that were there. These SFV screens don't really convey the effect of the new motion, but you get the idea. The TSM file is back with Jonathan.Kevin, how is it that you haven't been able to get your own K27 going? Need a hand?Cheers,

Not much point putting all that effort in if the model isn't gonna work. I know how frustrating that can be. Want me to have a look at it? In nearly three years of TSM model building, I had just about every error that it can throw at me and have still amnaged (often with help from people here) to fix it! I'm happy to help...Cheers,
