Hey gang,a few pics for ya!I was thinking about trying to save polys but figured out it wouldn't make much sense because I'm planning more versions with even more details (N&W, maybe SP). So I tried making two shape files and adding the second with freightanim - AND IT WORKS ABSOLUTELY FINE! As you can see there is still some texturing to do, the model itself is almost finished. Right now I want to make 3 PC engines with at least one running long hood forward. Hope you like it!------------------------------

RE: More RS-11 news!

That is some excellent modeling. VERY impressive work. How does it relate proportionally to other "key" MSTS engines? (i.e. 3DTrains F's and Geeps, for example.) That is, does it seem to be proportionally correct in size in comparison to them, or too big/too small? This will be important if it's to be eligible to be included in consists containing other engines of the era modeled by other modelers.

That issue alone has relegated some fine models to the cyber shelf.Andre MingVisit V Scale Creations Forum at: http://www.3DTrains.comMore RS-11 news! – image 5

RE: More RS-11 news!

Jan said:"I haven't yet compared it to other models in size, but I tried to make the dimensions as prototypical as possible using all available information and diagrams!" Well it's a fine looking model. One to be proud of. Hope you receive much pleasure in its distribution/use.One last question, what modeling program did you use to build it?

Hooray, more Penn Central power. Thank you for doing these; I'd seen one for the first time early in February and had been silently hoping that someone'd make a couple. I'l also be eagerly awaiting your future N&W release.

RE: More RS-11 news!

Jan,That is a very nice model you have there. One minor thing. Those MU plugs on each end should be removed. Check the link to a photo of a PC unit taken in 1975. I hope this helps.Bob StaplesMore RS-11 news! – image 14

Hi Bob,I'm working with lots of pictures from rr-fallenflags.org and other sites. The 7624 has the plugs like my engine. The Penn Central took over it's ALCOs from different companies, so there are differences between them. But I'll cover a few of them, every model will differ a bit from the others!------------------------------

RE: More RS-11 news!

Hey, they look great. As an diehard Alco fan I'm always vacilating between which Alco model I'd count as my favorite. But I always come back the RS11's, they kind of have a special place in all my MSTS running. So the more RS11's the better, especially ones done well, like yours. Keep up the good work.
