Just wondering how the fix for the K-27 are coming. I know someone is working on the cabview (right?) and there is also a little problem with the otto fireman. Also the gap between the front copular and the rest of the cars. Just wondering how it was going.

RE: Fix for the K-27???

LAST EDITED ON Feb-13-04 AT 12:27 PM (EST)

Well, when Jonathan gets on this morning I will discuss with him how things are coming. I was doing a repaint and made a 463, which I ended totally re-doing one of his to make it. The 463 will be a totally new model pretty much, but we will still say that Jonathan made it because he still theoretically did. I just added details and moved stuff to make it look a little more like a K-27.The Rotary OY is coming along pretty well. I used photo textures and they look pretty darn good. Jonathan is working on the .eng for it. I am using sounds of OY for it. I don't know how we're going to do a cabview yet. And I don't know how to make cabs anyway. I think I want to make it so your in the pilot house at the front with the whistle cord and the bell ringer that sounds like a school bell, tells the engineer how to run the blade. One thing I really want to get right is the sound for this thing. If any of you guys have any video of the trips the C&TS has made with the OY over the years you will notice that first off the thing doesnt speed up when they give it full throttle to plow a 12 foot snow drift because the locomotives are pushing it. I might be able to get good sounds of it working like that. That thing at full throttle is pretty much just a loud roar. But sometimes if the locomotives are pushing to hard it will bogg way down and it will be very distinct exhaust.Anyway, here it is so far. Anyone who knows how to make those nice cabviews for example, the SP&S 700 has one of these cabviews. I will pay you to make the cab of this thing for me, or I guess the pilot house. And any photos that you need I can get you. Thanks alot,
Kevin Bush,

I will have my hand on the throttle of a K-36 very soon Mon Freunds!

RE: Fix for the K-27???

One thing Jonathan. First, im done with the rivet patterns for the tender textures. Now what we need to do is darken the white stripes on the running boards, and lighten the details. A lighter color than the boiler and cab are. So they stand out. Make the safetys a lighter color especially because the steam would make them white over time from the lime in the water and the boiler treatment stuff that gets in the steam...Make the frame part of the tender a dark grey. Thanks everyone! I hope you guys like this thing! And the rotary when that finally gets done someday! Kevin Bush,
