Hi Otto I have a problem with the Stand alone Mini MSTS I had off you, I have searched the threads but have come up with nothing of any use, I have put my Toddington UK route into it, it works OK with all the diesels, but when I try to load any Steam Engines it just will not load.
Would there be any extra files to put into your Mini MSTS to make it load both Diesel and Steam EnginesThank you Otto
This picture shows the Diesel load up

Is that specific Steam Engine having problems. It seems that the .ace files from the Cabview folder is missing or the .cvf file has referred the wrong place.

-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!-----
Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...

RE: Otto please

It happens with every single Steam Engine, and I have about 10 I have tried so far, there is nothing wrong with any of the files in the Engines, they work OK in the main train sims. It seems that I have put this in the wrong folder Frank

Do you have more than 899 consists?
Try running Conbuilder which can be found in the file library.
Conbuilder will check you trains for missing cabviews, missing sounds, missing trains, etc...

RE: Otto please

I have had that before and it seems that re-installing Directx did the trick for me (don't ask!!!??)
Routeriter is also excellent for checking/solving any problems with stock/consists etc..

RE: Otto please

Sorry Frank for not responding ! It is not very often that I visit here. Whenever you get similar problems adding Rolling Stock to MINI ROUTES, look into their CABVIEW .cvf and SOUND .sms files to find out what they are looking for and where, then add that to the MINI Route's TRAINSET Folder.I usually make my TRAINSETS STAND-ALONE too by amending their files so that they are getting what the need in their own folders, having copied the necessary into them. A bit of work, but from then on I do not have to worry about moving them again somewhere else or customising certain Cab Views or Sounds ! O t t o

RE: Otto please

Hi Otto Thanks for that info Otto, I realized after talking with SP that I didnt have the defaults Steamer's in the folder, and of caurse the add-ons wanted the .cvf and .sms of the defaults. I also meant to put this in the Microsoft Train forum, but some how I put it here. Im hoping to put that Toddington route onto a disc as a stand alone to show my brother in Gloucester of how much has been done to the route, with out loading the full Microsoft Train Sims on his computer, I have tried it on my second computer, it seems to work OK but a little bit slow, any other info would be gladly accepted I should be over in the middle of March and I shall be at my Daughters place in Winchcombe. LAST EDITED ON Feb-15-04 AT 10:10 AM (EST)

Hi Frank !A MSTS MINI STAND-ALONE ROUTE does not need MSTS Installed, but the EDITORS and some ADD-ON Utilities do. However, ACTIVITIES and CONSISTS can be amended with a UNICODE Text Editor if it comes to the worst ! Looking forward to some tasty NOSH-UPS again ! Take Care, O t t o.P.S.: The speed at which MSTS runs depends on the quality of the WIN O/S, RAM and Hardware, SLOW on my WIN-98SE and GREAT on my WIN-XP, using almost identical CPUs and the same nVIDIA TI-4600. We shall check it out on my machines when you visit next.
