Its been about 2 weeks since I posted an update on our current modelling progress. So far the C&S Stockcar is at the "finished" stage, I have some minor adjustments to make to the model before I release it.The current projects being worked on this week are C&S stock car 7064 CONX 5 Southern Pacific box car 10 and North Pacific Coast caboose 2Here is a screenshot of these models in their various forms which I took lastnight. CONX 5 now has some basic textures and is coming along nicely. I have plenty of detail to add to the model as I go along.SP box car 10 has been getting texture work done although it is a few weeks away from the beta stage.NPC caboose 2 is coming along slowly while I am still doing research, I got the opportunity to see the prototype on Thanksgiving and I think you will all be impressed with the finished product. I am also pleased to announce a special Christmas model I am working on. However to keep it sort of a suprise I wont say what it is just yet. I am sure some of you will figure it out in a day or two when I post a screenshot. Below is a close up shot of CONX 5 taken about an hour ago.-=Andrew=-Northern California Narrow Gauge Model Builders
Oooh. I like 'em. Especially the CONX car - that and the stock car will work well over Cumbres Pass. Are you taking requests? I've got a couple of favorites I'd like to see, but haven't had time to try my hand at putting them together yet.Andy
Andy,I do take requests, however you should note that I have done atleast one D&RG stockcar. I am planning on doing all of the versions of them. Next up will be the later phase C&S/RGS cars and the "Black" D&RGW cars.-=Andrew=-Northern California Narrow Gauge Model Builders
Andrew - I've got your DRGW stock car, and like the work. I'm looking forward to your future stuff - it's good to have another NG-lovin' Andrew on the forums! What I'd really like to see are two cars that were pretty unique to the DRGW NG world: 1. pipe gons used to haul oil field pipe from Alamosa to Farmington, with open ends to accomodate the oversize pipe lengths - these were used with idler flats between each gon. It was largely this cargo that kept the line between Chama and Durango open into the late 60s. 2. "covered wagon" flats. I have a couple of photos of flat cars with large hoops and a fabric (probably canvas) covering that create a covered wagon effect. These weren't used very often, or at least they're not very often seen in photos. It's not clear what was under the canvas, but it was likely automobiles. I'll see if I can find the photos and post 'em.I'm not asking or expecting you to put these any higher on your list - there's plenty to do on the Cumbres Pass without these cars. But if you run out of things to do.... Andy
