Howdy.I'm looking for some physics for the Amtrak P42 and Amtrak P32. It'll be for the upcoming Realistic Consists 2. Thanks.Physics Request: P42/P32 – image 1

Well I don't know about realistic physics but I have about a 1/4 done skin of the P32-BWH in Phase IV. #515 but that's easy enough to change. You already know about the horizons... Tim Frost

Nearbug is great! Thanks for asking. I've slowed down developing for BVE though because it's so time intensive and the code is hard on my eyes. My insurance plan won't cover new glasses until June 04 so I need to keep my eyesight from slipping further from my current Rx. But as you may or may not know, it's almost impossible not to develop SOMETHING for a community, so I've been doing little things on the side while waiting to go to conductor school: reskinning models, building the viewliner. Ok, so that's not so little, but the principle is the same. I just wanna give back to the community I have enjoyed so much from.'Twas my birthday yesterday and I was out for most of the evening. I'll have time to finish the horizon skin tonight. The Phase IV looks a bit smushed, I'm not quite certain how I can fix that, but the PHIII is spot-on if you ask me. I have the cafe car in PHIII nearly complete (uses coach interior) and I could repaint the Autotrain full dome into Phase IV if you like, but I think Jim England may well be a better candidate for that as he is familiar with any texturing inconsistencies or limitations on the full dome. Most likely he would do it if you asked.Tim Frost

Oh and did you want the Phase IV P32-BWH? Needs some minor detail work to complete that I can't seem to get right.Tim Frost

Hi Mac and Derek ,
Feel free to jump on this Derek, or i will gladly help if you wish? I don't have a lot of data on the passenger units, but i think I have some info. Please let me know if I can help.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-02-03 AT 07:54 PM (EDT)

The P42s are 4250hp. The P32s are 3200 I believe. Also it must be accounted for that one of the locomotives in the above picture was providing HEP and would not have all of its horsepower available for traction. It's likely that the P42 was doing so. This way the less-powerful P32 could have all of its power going to traction.Tim Frost
