I got the problem of getting wheels and bogies to animate the way they should when it comes to wagons with 2 sets of bogies, How about a Light rail vehicle with 3 bogies, a front a mid and a rear? Now assuming that from what i know about 2 sets, naming them bogies 1, wheel 11, 12, bogie 2 wheel 21, 22, would I be right to assume that in the case of 3 bogies, that the mid bogie becomes 2, and the last becomes 3 with the naming of Bogie 3, wheel 31,32?Robert C. You can name it to match the naming convention...but they won't animate. It's a limitation of the SIM.It's been solved by creating multiple "separate" wagons that make up the single vehicle and using the Consist Editor to put them toigether properly.Pete Willard

Wait a minute, three bogies on one car?
Am I assuming correctly that this is an articulated car?
If so your solution would be to model it as two parts. If you absolutely want it as one part you should make the middle bogie as an integral part of the main body and use Bogie1 & Bogie2 for the two end bogies, much like a 4-4-4 steamer.

So if im understanding you correctly, I would want to make each end its own seperate wagon Correct? and with that then I would adjust the bounding box numbers then to make the A end and Mid section "Ride or Overlap" on the end of the B end to look correct?
Also, heres something that i found when I was putzin with the wheel animation, Notice the 4 dots, those are the wheels from Bogie1 and Bogie3, the 1st wheels in Bogie 2, I cant find, They are hidin somewhere in the body.Robert C. Mapplebeck

Yepp, something like that. You can make the mid-section and bogie integral to one of the ends, no need to make that separate.
The two sections will need to overlap and when you get around to the eng/wag file you'll want to make the coupling rigid and non-detachable.For your problem with the wheels you should check the axis location and orientation for each part.

Ok, let me see if i got this right. I would use the join command to join the Mid Section Bogie (bogie2) to the Mid Section, thus the hierarchy for the wheels would then be to the Mid Section. Is this Correct? As for the misalingment... I did check all the axis locations and amde sure they were all reset and in the correct orientation. the only one that is not axis to the object it the Mid Section which it the one that is Axis to Origin.Robert C. Well, After a few mistakes here and there, I think I got it, connected the Middle Bogie to the Mid Section and made the B end its own entity, The wheels are going to be hard to see from just about any angle due to the fact that the carbody skirts pretty much cover them ( the mid section is yet to have its skirt applied) but they do roll.. Woohoo, With you guys help I thin I got it... Now it going to be on to the last few small details and the pantographs...
Oh and if theres anyone out there that might be interested in helping me with texturing this beast, I could sure use the help since most of this car is glass and interior will be highly visible from the exterior and I have yet to get alphas figured out. Pacmancreator offered to help out with the cabview, I would more then appriciate that help. Paging Pacmancreator.... Lets chat.
Thanks Guys...
