Hi all,The Victorian Railways K class Consolidation is still coming along, despite some poly issues. I figured it was time to post a few screens, showing the completed Walschaerts valve gear and new liveries, representing some of the many variations of in-service and preservation liveries. Remarkably, of the fifty three locos built, eighteen still exist, from spare parts tree to park display to operating condition. This loco is under construction by the new Australian group, Team-ALCO, and wll be available once the poly issues have been sorted out, and final work (including the later Boxpok-wheeled variety) and packaging is complete. The D3 class mixed traffic Ten Wheeler (as seen in the trestle shot) will be released first.(Australia) K class loco – image 1
K190 returning to Melbourne from Bacchus Marsh (will be released with the correct Boxpok wheels)

K163, recently repainted runs the Mornington service. I'll have to get rid of the smoke deflectors to make this really accurate!

K163 in late 1980's guise. Ahh, this takes me back to the days I worked on this loco. I never was able to clean all the grime out of my clothes after spending a day in the smokebox of this loco, cleaning and grinding out the superheater block!

RE: (Australia) K class loco

Kudos to you and the team, for producing a brilliant and beautiful lokey! Those spoked wheels really do look nice, Matt, but how many polys are there per wheel? (Yikes!) How many in the entire engine? Out of curiosity, are you still using TSM? This is really excellent! Hope you're doing well, mate!Timtimmuir@wcn.net
