Just curious to know if there are any Baldwin RS-12's available for MSTS? I have looked around here and on the internet and haven't found any so far. I was wondering if anyone knew of any. Here is an older picture of a California Western RS-12.Thanks for your help!Tony

Have you looked in the File Library? If you can't find it in the library, chances are it hasn't been made, beause it's the most conprehensive File Library dedicated to MSTS on the web. The link to the File Library is on the bottom of nearly every page on this web site.

Nope. There's a(n) DS4-4-1000(SC), AS16, DRS 4-4-1500 (I think), and an AS616 (I think).More (diesel) Baldwins would be very cool, especially a VO1000 and such.Rumour has it that Trainartisan has a Shark in the works, but that was over a year ago and it has not materialized, nor have any updates been posted.Others may have more info.GH

Thank you for the replies.... and yes, I have checked the train-sim file library. Sometimes I see links here in the forums to smaller sites, or designer's sites offer some downloads... just checking to see if it was out there somewhere.Again - Thanks!Tony

That would be so very excellent! Some "Very Olds" (VO660s and VO1000s) would be wonderful...not that I'm begging. Well, ok, I AM begging! Love your previous works there Pete! I run them all the time!Gary

I don't mind doing a shark if someone would direct me to some blue prints.
Edit:Noticed 2 things about that engine.1.) Is that a skunk on it's side between the roadnames?2.) Look behind the hood. The engine has been modified. You can see where the short hood has been raised. Probably to accomodate something. And, it'd be interesting if someone made that war bonds billboard.

That's a start. Thankfully the nose is similar to something I started in the past. Gimme a few weeks.

I was putzing around trying to find data on the Little Joe electrics and that site came up on a Dogpile search, you can bet your rear as soon as I started delving in I bookmarked that sucker.Magic
I've got to admit a bit of a selfish motive in providing help, I just think a Shark AB set would look real sweet in EJ&E livery. Gary S

RE: Are there any RS-12's for MSTS

I've started making test sketches, trying to figure out how I plan to map out and work the compound curves of the nose and the body itself. Also, I'm trying to decide before hand, what polys I can cut out prior to building. So far, I've decided to use the A unit's textures for the B unit's when it comes to roof, wheels, and trucks.

RE: Are there any RS-12's for MSTS

let me add this, I've dug up several picturs that show the front end, The best so far came from NE rails, and is a D&H pair. I'll use them for the nose detail since it didn't change between the 4 and 6 axle variants.

RE: Are there any RS-12's for MSTS

This may seem like a bone question, but the Baldwin RS-12's have the first two letters of their...umm...designation...the same as an ALco RS-18. Any coincidences? Or, am I on glue again?

I wanna highball it through Woodstock, Ont. on none other than...THE TURBOTRAIN!!!

Nah, the other project I'm working on is an E-6 consolidation. Biggest of the class ever built and can pull as much as a challenger.

RE: Are there any RS-12's for MSTS

oh, as to the one I started in the past, I'd bashed around the idea of making a five axle C liner, but never got past messing with the nose.
