LAST EDITED ON Sep-20-03 AT 10:43 PM (EDT)

More like DD40X... Isn't it? The horn is in the front...
Either way, it looks beautiful. All it needs is a proper plow and coupler, the Union Pacific lettering more spaced (I think you should use Arial, consult an expert Engine Skinner) and a few other things... MTA Going your way for 100 years. 1904-2004The Dd35A! – image 5

RE: THE DD35A!!

>More like DD40X... Isn't it? The horn is in the front... The horn being on the cab could be considered correct.Union Pacific did go through a stage where they were moving all the horns from the rear of the units to the front, in the late 1970's. Most of the new SD40-2's delivered in that era were delivered with their horns in the front. It all stemmed from a couple accidents in which trains ran over people -- engineers were blowing the horns -- and the horns were NOT heard because they were mounted at the back of the units.Funny thing is, now most roads are going to mounting the horns at the back of the units, so the crews don't go deaf!!

-"Tell me what you think"I think I like it! A few minor things, though. I don't have any pics of a 35 handy, but I think it should have a UP herald on the side and probably the front as well. The font doesn't look quite right either. You might want to get a hold of Auran's DD40X and try to match it as close as you can, or perhaps scan a model UP loco and lift the lettering from the scan. Nice looking loco. Can't wait to get a hold of it. I love all of UP's unique beasts from days gone by.GrizzlyThe Dd35A! – image 11 The Dd35A! – image 12
