Hey guys , Today I went on to my MSTS cd and I found the Tech Docs t on working with lights and I need some help , I am just getting into screwing arround with lights and I have come a crossed something that stumps me . I am working on a locomotive that has a set of nose lights and a set of Ditch lights but I wanted to get a more authentic SP look , So I wanted to add a set of lights above the cab but I don't know where to start , Light ( comment( Sphere of Running Lights ) Type ( 1 ) Conditions ( Headlight ( 3 ) Unit ( 2 ) ) Cycle ( 0 ) FadeIn ( 0.7 ) FadeOut ( 0.7 ) States ( 1 State ( Duration ( 0.0 ) LightColour ( ffFFE4AB ) Position ( 0.0 4.3 9 ) Transition ( 0 ) Radius ( 800.0 ) Angle ( 40.0 ) ) ) )I took this from the eng file and I need to know how to change this to a Headlight above the cab that comes on when I switch to bright Thank you Southern Pacific will live on forever in the hearts of the Red and Gray Railfans Shane Palus smp1151@sbcglobal.net
Alright here goes. What you have there is a bunch of coding for ONE lightYou will need multiple of those to create sets of lights. In your case it sounds like you will require 2Now for EVERY new light you must add the total added to the line at the beginning of the lighting code sectionNumber varies between 4 to 40 usuallyAll of your states and time of day you can read off the docs to understatnd what that isFor the color of your lights ..... LightColour ( ffFFE4AB )May I suggest for now using whatever code your head or ditch lights have. All the rest is pretty straight forward provided you do the following.Read the docsMake a back-up beofre you startExperimant see what happens with whatMake a back up !!Trust me ... the docs help ....... read emMAKE A BACK UP !!!!The docs aren't 100 fool proof .......but read em anywaysDid I mention MAKE A BACK UP !!!Good luck;LaterIf you have any more particullar questions feel free to e-mail me at homectober@shaw.ca Tim Kent 96th_Malice " Power for You "
