Jonathan,I agree with Rio. You need to make the stack taller and counterweights bigger. The tender needs work too... an the engine more detail like a better valve gear.Just some constructive ideas for you! Keep up the good work,JohnK27 update from the Narrow Gauge Virtual Works – image 15

RE: K27 update from the Narrow Gauge Virtual Works

Having ridden behind the 463 many times, I'd like to be a beta tester if you are still needing someone. Curious: where did you get your sound files? The 463 has a distinctive sharp exhaust probably due to the size of the blast pipe.
I have plenty of video footage taken over several years on charter trips so I don't have to rely just on memory.

What cab are you using? I think if you have a bell included in the .eng file it should be available in the cab editor- I would recommend finding a control you like from a default loco for the bell, then make sure you can add a bell to the cab, and use that graphic.Try the Cab Design forumJoel Lefever

Nice shots. Just wondering though, the shots of loco and boxcars raises an interesting question. Is either the loco or boxcars out of scale? I ask this because the boxcars reach only the height of the tender top, and is seems unlikely that boxcars would be used which would not take advantage of the loading gauge, as demonstrated by the cab height. I would have thought that the cab roof would be near the limit of the loading gauge, as would the boxcar roofs. This is meant as constructive, and not meant as an insult. I know the dramas and difficulties of steam loco design, having just worked out Walschaerts valve gear, I can appreciate the efforts required.Cheers,
Matt Austin

The Loco is Narrow Gauge and was rebuilt with a SG cab. The Box Cars about the correct height and so is the loco. It looks odd because 1880's box cars are next to a RGS 2-8-2.Look at the photo at this link http://photoswest.org/cgi-bin/imager?00400120+RR-120I do know what you meanhttp://groups.msn.com/MSTSNarrowGauge

Hi Jonathan,Fair enough, I gladly stand corrected. Being used to seeing everything sized to fit the loading gauge made it look unusual. Nice work, keep it up.Cheers,

Hey John. I tested it, runs great but the animation is alittle jerky though, but it still is a good loco. /JonatanSteam rules!K27 update from the Narrow Gauge Virtual Works – image 52
