I would like to develop some animation where an attachment to a diesel could be raised or lowered. I know with an electric I could use the pantograph to accomplish this--but can it be done with a diesel? I could develop the diesel and run it on electric routes only, but I really don't want to do that! Any suggestions?Dave
simple, I did something like this with a eletric engine. with steam like animation. what you have to do is make it a eletric then after you finish it and get everyting finished, then give it a diesle .eng file. you can try this I don't know if it'll work, but you can sure try it. Unfortunately it would not work. You can build any animation you want into an engine without worrying about what kind of engine it is. The difference with having it specified as an electric is that then the sim will react to the 'P' key to operate the pantograph or whatever animation you have linked to it. Change the eng-file to a diesel and it will stop working. The .s file does not not if it's an electric or diesel, that's simply a shape with some animation in it.
