Anybody know if there is a safe way to insert comments into an .sd file? I'd like to insert a line holding the name of the person who created the shape and/or the downloaded filename.Dave Nelson Aug 1950
Congratulations, a first time question. Never thought about it, but it struck me that any unicode file oughtta accept comment (blah blah blah) just like any other one does. Not the case tho, I added that just below the header, and got "failed to load extended shape data". Possibly looking at the coding more closely would help, maybe I'm not closing the comment properly (I DID manage to make that 64k "hello.com" work in a C++ tutorial, but that's the only thing I ever wrote in C code that actually worked!). Don't seem to matter if you add it after the ESD bounding box and then the ")" under that, since I believe that last close parenthesis is an "end of file" marker. Possibly anything under that would be ignored even without the "comment (yada yada yada)" format, I dunno. But with a comment under that last parenthesis it does work, hitting CTRL and keypad + brings up the bounding box lines, so it's obviously reading that last line correctly.
