I'm confused (frequent occurance with MSTS). I'm little by little updating the bounding boxes of my rolling stock and have encountered a problem I don't understand the cause of. When I fix the bounding boxes of any of these CGW or GMO passenger cars (based on same model) I get an error message from MSTS 'no extended shape for (editted car)'. Logically this should mean I've done something wrong, but I sure can't figure out what. All I've done is raised the height of the box, and a MINOR tweak to the tensor length. I've included a jpg of before and after edits in BBoxEdit side-by-side. Conbuilder gives these a clean bill of health. While I'm editting I usually leave MSTS running on the selection screen and come back and start the 'activity' for analyis of my changes. I make these changes in this style and MSTS runs them fine. BUT.... if I exit MSTS and restart it, then it refuses to run the activity with the changed cars, getting the message shown. I've looked at the editted .sd files and .wag files and see nothing obvious there. Anyone have thoughts?
You're right, I went back and read the 'readme' file (I DID read it originally )and it did say this could happen, no explanation given. Bit of a bummer, but so be it. With half of the bounding box below ground I've got to believe these cars are trouble waiting to happen but I guess I'll use them until they 'crash'
found it! i decided to hand edit the .sd & wag files, and in doing so found that they had the 'problem' BBoxedit warns about in the .sd file. The double parentheses situation. I put it on a new line ...walla! Lot easier to recognize this stuff when its not 2 a.m. LOL
