LIRR fans:
Now you have the proper cars to pull behind recently offered LIRR Diesels painted by Ken Rodgers (original models by John Fowlis).
The Long island Railroad's fleet of electric multiple unit cars were often converted for use behind steam and Diesel locomotives and closely resembled their electric counterparts. Such cars often were used in the middle of electric MU trains as well, as trailers. When located between heavier cars, they had a tendency to bounce back and forth which led to their reputation as "Ping Pong" cars. They have the classic Pennsylvania\Long Island RR look of the period from the 40's to the 60's before Metropolitan Transit Authority M1's took over all LIRR operations. So get on board, and if you're going into Manhattan to see a show, perhaps one of the movie ads inside the cars will convince you which one to see.
