RE: CEBX800 update

While you're here i'd like to bring something else to your attention. On the 180ft etarco flat, the whole car cannot go together the way the readme says. I get the incompatible coupler message, and I have to re arrange it and it doesnt look right. i'll see if I can get a pic to you that explains it more in detail.

RE: CEBX800 update

Use Con Builder 1.5.5 or greater....And are you not able to run the unit in MSTS or are you just getting a message about the incompatible couplers in the consist builder?Rick

RE: CEBX800 update

He's probably doing the same thing I emailed you about Rick.I knew that the consist builder in the AE won't even let you couple two disimilar couplers, so I was wary of the error message in Conbuilder.I've used ConBuilder for some time, but always using the same coupler type for a consist. So even though CB coupled them for me, I assumed MSTS wouldn't be happy with the consist and I didn't even try running it.They do work fine in the sim, but I haven't tried coupling or uncoupling them.Maybe you might want to update the readme to say that the consist must be built in CB and to ignore the error?-Jeff

RE: CEBX800 update

So...Uh...I can't find the A7 fix in the download area, not even by searching for the name as listed. Were you able to upload it yet?

RE: CEBX800 update

Rick, that car has got it "goin on"! I've got a schnabel car I've been trying to work on for what seems like months now--from back when people were trying to figure out how to animate extra wheelsets and have more than two or three bogies. You've done great work and I'd like to use your methodology if possible to model my liquid molten metal car (108' 2 bolster spans 8 bogie 16 axles), but I'm still confused how to get the sections to link up so they look like one continuous wagon. I've tried to look at each section you developed and the .wag file for each (I think I understand the coupling), but I'm still not clear on making the overlaps. If I could figure out how to make a span over two cars and then a load over the span, I think I would have it made. If at at possible, could you include some of these sections you modeled as TSM project files, their associated .wag files, and a brief explanation on how to mod the files to make the cars line up and overlap. I'm not asking for your model, just enough sections to understand how to line up and overlap. I though at first there must be invisible parts extending the length of each cars, but after a closer look at the points in the shape file, I now think it's something in the .wag file. In short, I stuck and don't know for sure how to even build a schnabel car. If you could offer any assistance, please drop me a line.Dave

Hi SSW_96,Are you still having problems....and are you using conbuilder 1.5.5 or newer?
If so send me a pic of what your running into...and I will try to help you out...it should be the way I described in the readme...others are not having any problems...just a few...and I think it's because of the MSTS built in consist editor....Let me know.Rick
