I like to ask you why this is hapen in the game ?In the 3d studio max the file is ok but in game look like thisThe same happens if i Import the loco to Gmax this poly apears without smoth. Is possible some one help-me ? Thanks Paulo Almeida www.cpvirtual.web.pt
Hi,I doubt this is necessarily an MSTS thing. Building models in 3DCanvas, I have never seen a situation where smoothing in MSTS was anything different than what I applied in 3DCanvas. Something else must be amiss, sorry I can't help you figure out what it is.cheers
I'm guessing you used conv3ds to export your model. If so that's most likely to be causing your smoothing issues. The problem stems from the .3ds format that conv3ds uses. The .3ds format creates overlapping verticies where the UVW borders meet. It's these unwelded, overlapping verticies that cause the smoothing to be lost across the texture boundaries. You can avoid this by using the GMAX exporter to convert your models as it does not suffer from this problem. Simply export your model from max as .3ds and import it into GMAX. You will need to weld all the overlapping verticies back together after doing so.Conn McCarthy Train Artisan
