I've installed some of the older Sp SD45's thats aliased to the SD40-2. I copied the cabview from an SP unit that already had the SP SD40-2 cabview and sounds. I overworte all and changed it to read sd402eng.sms from gp38eng.sms and at the bottom of the .eng file from gp38cab.sms to sd402cab.sms But the problem im getting is both sounds (gp38 & SD40-2) are playing at the same time, but only the SD40-2 sounds are idling up with the throttle changes. What can I change to stop that? Procedure: Copied SP cab and sounds from SP SD45T-2 6801 to several SP SD45's. Overwrote when asked, and changed gp38eng.sms about middleways down the file to sd402eng.sms, and gp38cab.sms to sd402cab.sms near the bottom of the .eng file. But now on the SD45T-s and other units aliased, both GP38 and SD40-2
sounds play, but SD40-2 sounds are the only one that idles up with the throttle.

RE: Loco Sound Problems

"Overwrote when asked", tells me you were copying the sd402 cab and sound files over the original gp38 files? If so , you need to go into the sound file and seek out left-over gp38 wav files. Better yet, delete the sound file, and then copy the sd402 sound file into the sd45 folder. Also, be aware that some eng files have an extra cab.sms reference ( usually within a line or two of the eng.sms ).
