VIA Rail LRC Progress Report! – image 1

Hi All,I know that there have been a ton of requests for it, so I've decided to start the project. Here's the progress on my LRC project. For those that don't know, the LRC trainset was built by Bombardier/MLW and used to run on the main corridors as VIA Rail's premier passenger system. However, all LRC trainsets have been retired (well, the locos have anyhow - the passenger cars are still used), and have been replaced by P42DCs.So without further ado, here's my progress. This is just an initial start, so there's still some modelling to be done.Comments and questionsa are welcome.I'm not going to bother making this a poll, but what would the MSTS community like to see first? The U50c or the LRC trainset?Brian.

VIA Rail LRC Progress Report! – image 4

Looks good, but I got tired of waiting !!I have ventured out onto my own VIA Rail LRC adventureAs much as I am looking forward to this train, I am looking more forward to creating it myself.I am in the middle of getting plans from multiple sources for coaches and the loco. Tomorrow I'm going to pick up " real good " ones that my local hobby shop managed to scrounge up for me.There is not a hobby shop in Winnipeg who doesn't know what I am looking for when I walk through the door now. Most of the guys run now !! There have been way too many people helping me out on info on this. I just hope I can remember everybody when it comes time to provide credits.Oh yeah ........ Access to LRC sounds are being looked into as well, and that looks REALLY good. I have some already, but many more are needed. From what I hear .. A cabview will be easily accessable tooAlright now, all thats left to do is figure out this 3D modeling thingy !!LaterPS: Looks good so far viperfan..........get that thing off of Marias Pass though !!Tim Kent

RE: VIA Rail LRC Progress Report!

The LRC's were withdrawn from service Retirem, ent and withdrawl are two different things, but I'd like to see that be done in MSTS so my dad can complain. Make sure you get all their faults. The Ragged they come and the ragged they kill

Thanks for all the compliments, everyone.I'm hoping to have a cabview done for it - It'd be a shame to run this with a Dash-9 cab! Brian.

Looking good... though the windows couldn't hurt to have alpha channeling done to them.
By the way, when these are done, I won't have to use repainted Acela coaches with my VIA rail Genesis engines.Jon N,

I just keep adding parts that I want to see on mine........and if I keep this up I am going to start locking up some peoples PC'sI don't know what you have managed for plans, BUT if you need anything, e-mail me at home. I mnanaged to get " LOTS " in the last 2 weeks. ( Still more to come from a gentleman in Ottawa )ctober@shaw.ca

Tim, there is nothing wrong with your reskin, but it doesn't take long to notice that Acela coaches do not resemble LRC coaches, even though they are the closest match available among the default MSTS rolling stock.JonN

>How about an LRC Progress Report, anyone? Dude not 24 hours after Tim's last post and you want a progress report? It is precisely this kind of Krapola that has led to NALW's official position being it will be ready when we say it is....And to us considering banning our members from posting Work in Progress Pictures and forward looking statements on here.It will be ready when it is ready.
