3Dtrains GP9 extra things

New look to the GP9, just by adding one line to the ENG file: Erie or Penn Central type MU sockets and sunshades so far. No extra textures needed, as I mapped these to the original textures.
I made this addon piece in TSM, so the shape file is the original (except rotated 180 degrees).Maybe it's possible to make the weather-window or the an extra light, see the last pic.

Very nice enocell!You know, the 3DTrains v1 GP9 may be getting a bit long in tooth... but just noticing in your pics... it's still a FINE piece of equipment. I especially like the low-poly nature of the model in comparison to recent locomotives trends. Got a feeling they'll still be in service on my routes for a long, long time. Andre

i was jsut thinking to myself, Hmmm, you can add loads to gondolas, why not Extra stuff to Locomotives? Wanna give it a shot with a Dynamic Brake grid?

I uploaded an update for the three black Erie and EL GP7's. It contains these MU connections, walkways, sunshades and the large light for #1200. I think EL had these high MU's to use the geeps with th FM units. LV geeps doesn't have these.

Thanks for pointig that out, the Erie GP's didn't have dynamic brakes but LV GP's had. I also made new color scheme for the #300. #305 has the same livery as the #300's old.

This extra pieces addon needs some edits to the GP9A.TGA, alpha channel must be changed as well or the walkway is not visible.
Sunshades will be green unless you change the color.Dynamic brake is mapped to the GP9B.BMP and to the fan in the pic.

It has now the same piece added. But I have bad news, the whole thing needs some editing because of this "log" appearing in the cab.The lights are made by using it and the transparent area on the texture is there on purpose: it removes this thing. I placed the walkway to this area and it's now showing in the cab:-(I'll try to add one 64x64 or 128x128 texture for the walkway and sunshade. That way the original textures can be used without editing. I'll also ask Nels to remove the Erie/EL GP7 update as it suffers this bug as well.

Just updated the Erie #1200, #1400, EL #1204, LV #300 and #301.
Here's a shot of the red CNJ GP9. The box needed some mapping change, so they are only for these locos.

Do you have the sounds installed?My path looks like this:
D:\Train Simulator\TRAINS\TRAINSET\Common.Snd\EMD567with EMD567_power_cruise1.wav and
X_EMD567_power_cruise1.wavin there.

It may be possible with this model, but I haven't tried. With models without alpha/trans materials it won't be possible. Transparent areas were black.
