Announcement

As mentioned in a previous post, I have been losing the feeling in my hands. Due to this getting worse over a number of weeks I am finding everyday things a little more difficult. I am giving modelling away. I thank you all for your support of my models, and I hope you continue to drive them. I will still be around the forums, give some help and my two bobs worth here and there....and of course I will still download and enjoy many models yet to come.As for my projects, the only one that will be finished is the S class streamliner.------------

Hope you get to the doctor quick about this. My wife has the same problem, numbness and tingling in the extremities and spreading throughout the body - she's supposed to hear the results of her MRI this morning. Worst case scenario is probably multiple sclorosis; B-12 deficiency is more common, but still has to be taken seriously. There's good info on the web about the possible causes for this, and if you go to the National Public Radio website, you'll find a link to a recent report on promising research on a new MS drug. Good luck. I know it's scary.

I'm sorry to hear that. It might also be carpal tunnel sindrome, the nerves leading to your hands are pinched off. Usual cause is from many years of doing the same repetative motion with your hands. My mother suffered from a form of MS - by all means get to a doctor or clinic NOW. YOu may not have that much time - if there have been medical advances which will successfully treat ALS (related to MS I believe in some respects) it would have been the greatest thing in her life. I hope Steamhot has consulted a doctor and gone to a clinic which specilaizes in this disease, if there is any chance whatsoever of it being a form of MS it must be treated promptly.Bing

Sorry to hear of your situation.I had the very same thing happen, in only my left hand. It was job-related; I drive a transit bus, and the constant opening/shutting of the air valve for the doors caused the ulnar nerve to shift within my elbow and get pinched. It took a corrective surgery (and a month off work) but the feeling slowly came back. It was weird to lose it, one can't imagine what it's like to lose the feeling in their hands unless they've actually experienced it.Best wishes for recovery!!

Could it be carpal tunnel syndrome? I had a couple of scares in recent years, losing the feeling in my fingertips - not a good thing for a guitarist. I traced the first incident to the angle of the steering wheel in the Toyota van I was driving, and the second to a habit of resting my chin in the palm of my hand with the wrist bent backwards. Eliminating the causal behavior in both instances relieved the problem. I hope this information can be of some use to you.Tim

Sorry to say it, digital gold....not modelling doesn't bother me....but being a musician, I can no longer play the guitar. I am in three bands, what happens.....give them away, or find a way around it. I thank you ALL for your valuable comments. I am going to see a doctor Monday. I will let you know of any outcome.------------

Well, I just went to see a doctor right then....two problems in one....an Ford Escort gear box just fell on my head. Nothing much is going right at the minute! My mate lost his grip on it and I held it with my head and hands, up til he could secure it again. HINT TO ALL: don't work under cars.------------

It hurt lots, it feels like I have a constant hang over LOL. Actually Hovertrain, I'm surprised I didn't say that. I said: "Hello head"..........30 secs later, SHAUN WILL U GET THIS ****** THING OF MY HEAD! heheheheWith the hands, the doctors given me bruffen, if that doesn't work....an MRI, and so on.------------
