Just a heads up. All the pictures I've seen of DRGW GP35's have the small "Rio Grande" on the side. Not the big lettering. Good looking engine though.Nick

RE: Rio Grande gp35'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that Daniel should be alright with his repaint. Like their older GP30 brethren, a small group of D&RGW GP35s received the "billboard" style lettering at some point in their career.I think this was the pattern with the SD45s and the first batch of GP40s as well.Henry

Great looking repaint! I want one! I think Nick is right though, Daniel. I grew up watching the D&RGW in my hometown and all the 35s I remember all had small block logos, not the big billboard one. Great looking repaint though! GrizzlyRio Grande gp35'S! – image 6 Rio Grande gp35'S! – image 7

>>grizz i am in the works of doing a rio grande SD60SD60? Don't you mean SD50. DRGW never owned any 60's.>>Nick did you paint the rio grande tunnel motors for dekosoft?I did repaint the old SD45T-2 but haven't even thought of repainting his new version.. I like what he did with the model and have no intentions of messing with a good thing. I did repaint his GP40 before he released his DRGW version. Here are two shots of it.I haven't done much repainting of trains. I kinda got burned out on it. Now I working in the route editor. In fact, I even have 80% of the Kennecott Copper Mine tracks laid.Take Care
Nick

RE: Rio Grande gp35'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe ask Chip, or someone at Dekosoft! Their DRG&W Tunnel Motor has a splendid working nose gyralite. Looked back at some of my installs, and see that the SD45T-2 (SP 9327/with gyralite); was also a work of Chip's. Both, I might add; are "Magnifico" units !!! Ron K of RockfordP.S. Am liking your GP35 also, keep up the good work !
