Has anyone here ever seen a Norfolk Southern D8-32C Locomotive before? I saw it only once and was about 15 feet from it too
If so...is anyone planning on making one?

RE: New NS loco

I've got a pic somewhere, but Georgia Central had two of their U boats converted to those 40-8's (one high, one low nose) Rather than buy the new things, they put a new pm and generator (along with controls) and new trucks into the original old U boat body. It's funny you can tell those locs at a distance from the low growl they have. I think they're rated at over 2000hp.

Conrail never had B32-8's. The only -8's they had were C40-8W's, B40-8's, C39-8's, C40-8's and C32-8's.

RE: New NS loco

Actually, NS was the *only* purchaser of Dash 8-32Bs. Conrail did, however, own a number of similar-looking Dash 8-40Bs. Somewhat relatedly, Conrail was the sole owner of the 10 production C32-8s.Henry
