Magick in action Hey guys. I'm creating curious locomotives. Currently, I've discovered the following locomotives, which I'm going to try and build into the sim.The first is a SD24...de turbocharged down to a SD18, with the dynamic brake removed. (The blisther is still there, but it has no grills) This modification was done to create a medium road switcher. The second, once I finish the first (of course) is something known only to me as : SD45PT (a seven axle locomotive). Here's what I know about the SD45PT (which upon further research, I may do first )the SD45PT (prototype locomotive) was built for BN. This prototype had an experimental four axle radial truck at the rear. The truck was a test bed for the radial concept which became the standard truck on EMD SD70M locomotives. While the unit had 7 axles under it, only 6 had traction motors. The front truck had no motor on the center axle. This locomotive was scrapped after testing was completed. Now, that info comes from Northeast rails.
RE:BN 6599, I've gotten 2 pictures off the web. Railroad Model Craftsman March 1987(way out of print), has an article on how to build one in HO Scale. It has a couple of good side shots & 3/4 views. You could do the same thing in Train-Sim. If you can't find the issue, I could scan and send.Dwight Mvolt3@aol.com
