Jul-25-01, 05:06 PM (EST) "Alpha Texturing......" I want to make transparent windows for my train
Look at the boxes below...If i give the outer box the material AlphNorm and teh inner Box Solid Norm...do i see in MSTS the inner box through the outer ??
is that ok, if one object is IN another one, or do i have to change the outer box, so that there are only walls ?TRAIN 911

"RE: Alpha Texturing......" hi, I have had success with making windows in my pacific cab, in my model I have an inner cab and outter cab object separate from the main body. that way I could apply a transnorm material to them and a solidnorm material to the boiler. after that I just made sure that my TGA texture map had the right alpha mask to make the windows transparent but that does not give a glass effect. I have yet to learn that trick.hope that helps, john Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
