RE: Progress on the Progress.......................

Though I'm not personally familiar with this loco I believe it is indeed a 4-6-2, Georges...the first axle on the leading bogie is probably hidden under the front skirt and can thus not be seen on these shots.

When you first posted the photo of this thing I kept thinking it looks SO familiar...Last night I found out why....The "flat" nose has a strong resemblance to the seldom seen, probably never modeled, "Dixie Flagler"Progress on the Progress – image 7So if you ever find your New Zealander reskinned in Florida East Coast you'll know why...Anybody seen any of those Brazilian "Little Joes's" around? They look mighty nice in North Shore, Milwaukee, maybe even New Haven green and gold. Now if I could just find a British bathtub that looks like the "Commodore Vanderbilt"...Frank Musick

Hi,>cow catcher is scraping up the ballast
It's meant to be like that..........it is very, very low in the front end.>I believe it is indeed a 4-6-2
You are 100% correct........on the angle shown the front two wheels are hidden. Will this be worth downloading????????Regards
Ben

>>cow catcher is scraping up the ballast
>It's meant to be like that..........it is very, very low in
>the front end. Nice Locomotive Ben!! Good work as always...... But the message there about the cow catcher is absolutely correct, and you do need to look at that. The reason it can't be that low is a basic mechanical one. It must ride at least a couple of inches above the rail head. If it's down between the rails then it would hit every check rail and point frog (crossing) as you went over them... Nothing on a locomotive can ride below rail head level except for the wheel flanges. It may be that the photographs you're working from are confusing beacuse of the ange they are taken at. I know that does sometimes happen and make things look out of place. Hope that helps!Best Regards,

You all over looked the 2 mistakes.1. There is no tender!
2. The wheel sets are STANDARD GUAGE, but the S were on BROAD GUAGE.Apart from that, it looks good. I have one think to comment on.Would including all 4 members of the class be possible or will someone have to re-skin?

>1. There is no tender! That's not a mistake.... Have you considered that Ben might not have got to the stage of building the tender yet!>2. The wheel sets are STANDARD GUAGE, but the S were on
>BROAD GUAGE. That's about 3" difference in MSTS.... so little that it's not noticable in the sim, and I doubt very much that anybody is going to produce broad gauge track that is only 3" different.>It feels GREAT to be back again!Well as long as you behave like an adult in here, maybe you won't get banned again for the third time.

RE: Progress on the Progress.......................

Would being banned 3 times be a record?Anyway, I am thinking of doing BROAD GUAGE track once I learn GMAX fully.
A note, I will be signing with OzzyRail. So folks, I'm taken sorry.Progress on the Progress – image 17 Progress on the Progress – image 18

RE: Progress on the Progress.......................

Hey Steamhot,Great work, Australia's classiest loco is looking very nice indeed. It'll leave my K for dead, being the throroughbred versus the packhorse. As to gauge problems - those of us who actually BUILD 3D locomotives know that the track gauge in MSTS is wrong, so we live with that.I could also add that there isn't an entire trainset, but then again that would be naughty of me! Generally work in progree screenshots are exactly that, work in progress, as against completed work! So, Tulloch, when you actually build a loco rather than paying out on others' work, you'll get an idea of how much work goes into these things. It is easy to condemn and snipe, not so easy to build a locomotive. Keep smiling,Matt

Also not being able to respect other peoples rights on the forums. RE: Progress on the Progress.......................

BREAKING NEWS: Ben starts modelling,
In breaking news, Ben has started making models for MSTS. This is what he had to say "well, after the CEO of OzzyRail said to me that I would be good at it, I got GMAX booted up, installed the TS add on thingie and away I went. I now see, that a lot of work goes into making a engine or even a sign. I feel that I have taken like a duck to water, and should be producing models one every few week after about 2 months. I feel that this is something that I should've done ages ago" there it is people, Ben has started modelling for TS.Now, to comment on VICTORIAN locos being the greatest AUSTRALIA ever had.WRONG!The NSW AD-60 beats all VICTORIAN steam locos (except maybe the NA's).
Cheers,Pissed off, tired, and even harder working tulloch
