OK, I Bought MSTS, Got Hooked, Filled up 5gig on my Hard drive and now am ready to "Make my own". The Make ace utility converts image files to ACE files , so How does one convert an ACE to BMP or TGA? Am I missing something obvious? Thanks for any Help. Love the sim, this site, and boy is this FUN!! I also notice that 99% of the Regulars on this Forum are a GREAT Help to people like me. My Thanks
The best and easiest way to work with ace files is to get the tgatool2 program......It will do all this for you very easily.....convert to and from.......Very easy to use......Hope this helps.......Tim The Spur Line http://tahunter.net/thespurline Appalachia RR - Midwest & Rocky Mountain RR - ADFRR Route
As tim inadvertently forgot to mention it there, and as you're bound to ask where to get it from then TGATool2 is available from Martin Wright's website at: http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.ukBest Regards, Julian (Fozzy The Bear)
Oops, sorry about that Fozzy........didn't even think to tell him where to get it.......my bad.....thanks for adding the location.... Oh, and since you are here I just wanted to say, since I haven't had a chance before, how much I enjoy your work.........and the way you always seem to be here to help others........Thank you for that.....as far as I am concerned it isn't said enough......Tim The Spur Line http://tahunter.net/thespurline Appalachia RR - Midwest & Rocky Mountain RR - ADFRR Route
>as far as I am >concerned it isn't said enough...... Thank you Tim, It's very nice of you to say so. I do do my best to help others with problems, even if there are a few trolls lurking here and there that don't like me for doing it.Best Regards, Julian (Fozzy The Bear)

Thank you for the address to locate the tga tool, downloaded it and while playing around with it the mysteries of ace files and such are coming clear now. This is a must have for learning to reskin and texture, well back to play. Fozzy ya done it again, thanks for the help! John
