Can anyone explain the creation of eng and wag files from scratch? It would help a whole lot if someone like me could understand all the intricacies (hope I spelled it right) of creating these files.ThanksJoe Fortier alias SIMERJOE
Hi Joe, Not to be sarcastic, but in 12,000 words or less??? I think this is a bit of an overambitious and broad request. If you have questions as to particular elemnets, I would be happy to discuss them in detail. I am not sure where ro start on a broad question as you stated it. I do have an anotated .eng file which is a starting point for some of the issues the files will involve. Getting one to work is not that difficult, getting it to perform with some similarity to the locomotive modeled is more difficult, and time consuming. One thing you might do, is download the various V4.1 physics updates, (blatant plug), and examine the differences to see some of the ways the files are consructed to create different models. These will help with diesels and electrics, steam is a whole different set of parameters. Hope this is helpful, Bob
