Jul-22-01, 07:24 PM (EST) "Here's an Interesting idea." LAST EDITED ON Jul-22-01 AT 07:42 PM (EST)Ran across this strange loco and car a little while back, and finally found where I found it the first time. No, I can't build locos...don't have the stuff...but, I think this one would be quite interesting.northeast.railfan.net/images/ns33.jpgnortheast.railfan.net/images/ns34.jpgDon't know if that loco is the power, or Head end Power only. There's a Black NS visible in the first...so I'm inclined to believe that it's pushing the geometry car.
Oh, here's where I found that. http://www.northeast.railfan.net Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-22-01, 07:47 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Here's an Interesting idea." I suspect that thats a HEP/Train heat car for the business (inspection) car.. Note that that type of inspection car usually
has no real geometry or rail testing equipment on board.. Its used by the brass to inspect or tour a route..cheers

Jul-23-01, 08:42 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Hmm.. I could be wrong.." Well, I found that on the inspenction cars site. The thing that caught my eye about it is I can't really tell if it's towed...or pushed...those big windows lead me to belive that it's pushed. Still, nice color scheme...even for a geometry tester.
