May-06-02, 09:11 AM (EDT) "Tilting Trains" I have a strange question and please to me if it is possible or is someone working on it. Is there someone out there working on a tilting trainset like WEST COAST MAIN LINE PENDOLINO TILTING TRAINS? And if it not possible what can make it possible? I know it is like a physic question but hey I had to ask.

So until Kuju writes the code the answer is it can't be done. Of course your more than welcome to go out and prove us wrong. A lot of people will be happy if you do.David Klemm

May-06-02, 02:00 PM (EDT) 2. "RE: Tilting Trains" Surely it's just as simple as connecting the main body to the bogies and animating it so everytime the bogies turn the mainbody tilts. But I don't know anything though .... it would be nice to see the acela tilt and a few more tilting trains . Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

MSTS doesn't have the hooks to do it. It would indeed, as has been pointed out, take a re-write of the main game code. I'm not going to say it's impossible... because some astounding solutions have so far been found for problems in MSTS. BUT it's extremely unlikely. It's a bit like the long running turntable debate, no solution, because again it would require re-write of the code.Best Regards,

Any of you with program editors such as Microsoft Visual C++ probably noticed that when there is an error, you can push a new button that pops up only if you have a programming program, this button appears on the error dialog box. When you click the button that reads something to the effect of 'Debug Some Program', Visual C++ opens and allows you to edit the program. Now could somebody with programming knowledge make the changes to MSTS and then re-compile the file?Diesel IndustriesMessage Areas - "Tilting Trains" – image 1

It'd be a breach of Microstuffed End User Licence Agreement to do it and re-distribute the changed executable code.Of course if you did it and didn't give it to anyone else then that's up to you... Technically still illegal but nobody would ever know about it. You would have to be a bit on the stupid side if you did tell anybody you'd reverse engineered the software.Best Regards,
