May-05-02, 04:37 AM (EDT) "train.exe findings: some new controls?" While reading thru the train.exe file with a hex editor, I found these strings, that I think are names for controls:CAB_SWITCH
TAILLIGHTS
LINE_VOLTAGE
AMMETER
LOAD_METER
CAB_RADIO
ASPECT_DISPLAY
FRICTION_BRAKING
TRACTION_BRAKING
DIRECTION_DISPLAY
DIRECTION
ACCELERATE_HILO
ACCELEROMETERThose are only the interesting ones, there are too the usual REGULATOR, etc. normal controls that are in the Cab Editor. But I don't think those controls are... it might be possible to use them by editing the .cvf file by hand. It's unicode too. There seems to be no controls for the oil burners, which is too bad. I guess it's not implemented, then. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

May-05-02, 06:03 AM (EDT) 1. "RE: train.exe findings: some new controls?" >CAB_SWITCH Interior cab liting, perhaps?>TAILLITES Dunno if this is of much use? The default locos seem to be programmed so that the taillites only go on if there are no cars attached>LINE_VOLTAGE For switching voltage when running under catenary, I suppose.. (together with the inclusion of the dual-mode version of the Genesis I see this as a possible proof that they originally wanted to extend the NEC further north)>AMMETER Already included AFAIK>LOAD_METERAlready included AFAIK
>CAB_RADIO Might be nice...>ASPECT_DISPLAY No idea what this is...>FRICTION_BRAKING I think this is included on the HHP/Acela?>TRACTION_BRAKING No idea what this is...>DIRECTION_DISPLAY Reverser? In that case it is already included>DIRECTION Reverser? In that case it is already included>ACCELERATE_HILO No idea what this is...>ACCELEROMETER Think this is already included, at least in some of the custom cabs Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Hauling cars is fun; but crashing them is even better.

>Interior cab liting, perhaps? Or a switch to change the cab, to a another view, perhaps... I don't know how it could work.I wish Kuju would be more open about those things. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

May-06-02, 10:12 AM (EDT) 6. "RE: train.exe findings: some new controls?" Apart from TAILLIGHTS which I have never seen before the listed controls or displays are all available through the cab editor. I have used every one of them at one stage or another...-------SamSpade--------
