Apr-28-02, 04:08 AM (EDT) 1. "RE: changing sounds" Hi,There are several to accomplish this.
I assume you have the ESE, as it is required as sound source for the Jupiter.Second assumption, you have installed the General according the readme with all Scotsman sounds in the Sound folder, even this is not necessary; as the builder can provide aliased files.IMHO, the easiest way:
1. Delete all files in the Sound folder of the General. No backup needed, as you can copy them from the Scotsman, just in case.
2. Copy all files from the Sound folder of the Jupiter to the Sound folder of the General:
- 3chime1.wav
- ESECab.sms
- ESEeng.sms
- steambell1.wav
- x_3chime1.wav
- x_steambell1.wav
3. Now rename the .sms files:
ESECab.sms to ScotCab.sms
ESEeng.sms to ScotEng.sms
Note: This must be done in the Sound folder of the General! Not anywhere else!
4. Now you should be up and running. The General calls the ScotCab.sms and ScotEng.sms from within his .eng file, that's why you have to rename the .sms files and you avoid to rename the .eng file.Dick van den Hoven
