Apr-17-02, 10:24 AM (EST) "Tank Engine problems" Hi All,Just recently came across a problem with all my tank engines (from various designers & sources). The problem is that when i first enter an activity with a tank engine and check the coal level (in F9 and click on lead loco) it will tell me the current starting coal level. If i check in F5 it will tell me the coal is 100%.This is fine until i start driving as the locomotive starts to run out of coal after about 5-10mins (or 5 miles) of game play. However when i check the coal level in both F5 & F9 the coal percentance is still 100% full (F5) and the same capacity (F9). However i dont have this problem with the water capacity though.Checked all the .eng files and every one is set to
IsTenderRequired( 0 )
which means the loco does not use a tender to run, which is correct considering it is a tank locomotive. As a test, i changed it to ( 1 ) and ran the tank locomotive with a tender and everything worked fine and did not run out of coal after starting the game, not only that but i could sit and watch the coal usage percentage & capacity start to drop as coal was added to the fire. Changed it back to ( 0 ) and i had the same problem of running out of coal almost immediately but not showing it using any.Has anyone else had this problem or know how to overcome it. Could there be a missing entry in the .eng file for a tank locomotive, which although not needed for a tender locomotive, is required for a tank locomotive to work. Thanks in advance,
