Apr-12-02, 09:55 AM (EST) "OK, I guess I am dumb or somthing......" Hi Guys, I D/L'ed the extra SD40 loco files for the KHP route's fleet, and
it said to alias them in the folders of others....So I made seperate engins out of the other folders and re-named the files. Now I probably dont have to tell you it didn't work. What am I really supposed to do to get it to work right?? ANY and ALL help appreciated!!! Thanks much!!Kelley

LAST EDITED ON Apr-12-02 AT 11:02 AM (EST)Hey Kelley,Aliasing simply means redirecting the sound from another project to your project. If you want to alias the sound from the GP-38, edit your SD-40's .ENG file, and look for the line:Sound ( "gp38Eng.sms" )The "GP38ENG.sms" may be different. In any event, doing a search for "SMS" will bring up this line.Replace it with this line:Sound ( "..\\..\\gp38\\sound\\gp38Eng.sms" )There's also another sound file that will need to be aliased. It is for the internal cab sounds. Here's the line:Sound ( "gp38cab.sms" )Replace it with this:Sound ( "..\\..\\gp38\\sound\\gp38cab.sms" )That's all! Your sounds should now be aliased. There shouldn't be any need to copy over the SOUND directory.Brian. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
