Jul-13-01, 01:38 PM (EST) "3 Wheels on my bogie" Is it possible to have 3 wheelsets on a single bogie, cos when I have the following only 2 sets of wheels rotate.BOGIE1
|--WHEELS11
|--WHEELS12
|--WHEELS13BOGIE2
|--WHEELS21
|--WHEELS22
|--WHEELS23I get the impression WHEELS13/23 is not valid, so whats the answer?Tim Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-13-01, 02:43 PM (EST) 1. "RE: 3 Wheels on my bogie" You should be okay. If you look at the Dash9 they provide in the samples folder, it has three-wheeled bogies. Are all your pivot point axes positioned and oriented correctly? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-13-01, 02:49 PM (EST) 2. "RE: 3 Wheels on my bogie" Its not the pivot points, because if I swap the names over, say WHEELS11 with WHEELS13 then the non-rotating wheel swaps as well.
Its as if WHEELS13 is not a valid object name.I haven't tried importing the dash9 sample yet, I will try that and see if it actually works!Tim Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-26-01, 12:07 PM (EST) 7. "RE: 3 Wheels on my bogie" The game only allows 2 wheelsets per bogie, so if you need more then create an extra 'bogie' pivoted at the same point and attach the 3rd/4th wheelsets to that. The bogie doesn't have to be much, just a polygon in the centre perphaps. If animating the extra wheels works then thats ok, but you can't compile your finished .s file with ffeditc - it doesn't like animated shapes for some reason.Tim Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-31-01, 09:07 AM (EST) 9. "RE: 3 Wheels on my bogie" To clarify,Bogie3 pivoted at the same pivot point as bogie1, with wheels31 linked to bogie3.
Bogie4 pivots as bogie2, wheels41 linked to bogie4.I have (still) not tested this so would be interested in whether it works.Tim Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-31-01, 04:12 PM (EST) 10. "RE: 3 Wheels on my bogie" Hmm.. It wont work. Tried different settings now. Linked the bogie3 to main and with pivotpoint at bogie 1. But the problem isnt where the pivotpoint is. the part called bogie3 doesnt seem to work as a bogie.and the wheels 31 32 are linked to bogie3 but they wont rotate either. I just dont understand... Has somebody actually managed to make 3 bogies and 12 rotating wheels?? (sorry about my bad english.) ;)AS Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
