Apr-11-02, 04:40 AM (EST) "AI .eng files for all units" Hi All, Now that some of us have Kicking Horse Pass, and have the CP sound stuff, and the wonderful AI .eng files, I am wondering if someone can go and make blank files for ALL of the diesels? I know this may be a sound forum question, but this is a loco question as well. They do sound MUCH better.
If this is MLT's idea, and tey have rights to it....scratch the idea!!! Just a question to our sound peeps!!!!Kelley

Apr-11-02, 08:45 AM (EST) 1. "RE: AI .eng files for all units" I think that this idea pre-dates MLT, but I might be wrong.I've experimented with a few locos on my system, and I agree. You can really tell the difference. (I wonder how long Kuju has known this? And is it just something that didn't receive proper documentation?)In any event, setting up and AI version of a single loco is reasonably simple. However, when you look at the sheer number of locomotives that are out there.... <g>Still, I may be going back in and doing AI versions for the few that I've released.Henry

Apr-11-02, 09:31 AM (EST) 2. "RE: AI .eng files for all units" I thought about doing that with skins I released, but didn't think the "AI loco" idea had gotten around to others enough so that people would understand what the extra eng file was for. I figured it would cause more confusion than benefit to the "general public"- -seems like there are already tons of "I've tried everything but still can't get these stupid downloads to show up!" messages and I didn't want to add another host of them regarding AI locos. Maybe after this idea becomes more public it will be easier to tackle this project more feasibly and effectively. I still have to go in and change all my AIs to work with the newest version of ConBuilder! Clayton Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-12-02, 01:44 AM (EST) 6. "RE: AI .eng files for all units" I think the main reason why the AI loco has not been taken up more is that the istructions are fragmented on the forum.I have worked out removing the ref to the CVF file and "Head out" bit but I guess there is more to it than that. Can someone post a detailed blow by blow account of how to get the sounds of AI units to work.
