Jul-13-01, 08:53 AM (EST) 1. "RE: eurostar, ice .. WHAT ABOUT THE TGV!!!!!" If you search this site for TGV you will find that an mmacklin was working on a TGV model. Not had any update on that recently though. The Thalys repaint of the Acela is on this site for downloading now. I guess an Atlantique repaint should not be too difficult for someone.Ian M. Jul-17-01, 09:42 AM (EST) 5. "RE: eurostar, ice .. WHAT ABOUT THE TGV!!!!!" Great idea to make a Shinkansen, perhaps a Shinkansen 700. The newest generation of Shinkansentrains started on 03.13. 1999.

Jul-17-01, 01:35 PM (EST) 6. "RE: eurostar, ice .. WHAT ABOUT THE TGV! AND WHAT ABOUT THE IC3?" Hey, please tell me if I'm completely off, but some time ago on TV I saw what looked like a Flexliner of the Israeli railways. I also saw a brief report on how they operate heavy ore trains (I think that's what they were) through the Negev. Wouldn't that be an idea for a route designer (of course we'd then need the matching vehicles as well)???

Jul-17-01, 03:17 PM (EST) 8. "RE: eurostar, ice .. WHAT ABOUT THE TGV! AND WHAT ABOUT THE IC3?" Hi... --> No you are not!I can inform you that this flexliner is being operated by Swedish Rw, Danish Rw, Spanish Rw and also by the Israelian railways. So (YES) you've probably seen a IC3/ Flexliner in Israel This train I have posted above is from a Danish Railway-company. Take a look at the links at my post above...Yes it could be fun to design both train and route, but we need a relative big team right?
Want to know a little more about the Flexliner? Read this
It has a caracteristic "Rubber-nose" cab in the front, allowing trainsets to be coupled, the cab being turned away and make passage throughout the train. The total of 1600 HP per trainset is developped by 4 Deutz BF8L 513CP 8-cylindre diesel motors, mounted under the floor of the cars. The technical parts of the trains is mounted in modules, developped by Duewag, which makes maintanence very easy. The interior is comfortable and an electronic information system gives information during the travel about timetable-keeping, next station and so on. Phone, fax and radio is also part of the service in the trains. The trains where painted with a white car-body, only the doors being red. The nose is black. Unfortunately the trains are not always as clean as they might be - in that case white isn't exactly hiding the dirt picked up from the trackbed! All the trainsets has been named after historic persons by the towns which they serve.Found at this link: http://www.danbbs.dk/~smaalipz/railorama/danrail/dsb/dsbmf.htmSi. http://clix.to/trainsimManager of the why doesn't the UK have trainsim yet, when the rest of the world does, we don't need it translating, it was built in the UK, and we invented trains anyway, so we should really get it first lobby group.

Jul-17-01, 03:28 PM (EST) 10. "RE: eurostar, ice .. WHAT ABOUT THE TGV! AND WHAT ABOUT THE IC3?" Hi Euston.According to me you're wrong about the train is not in the original colors, this is not true. Denmark "Danish Country Railways" was the first country to buy and use the IC3 flexliner. Actually the delivery started back in the 90's. After Denmark came Sweden. Israel and Spain came much later. I did not really understand your point about the original colours. Hope you understand...
