Mar-31-02, 04:15 PM (EST) 2. "RE: MLW M-630 Specs" I think I can derive most of the parameters from the data available. The performance is going to be largely controled by the GE 6-752E7 (from an Alco C630, the MLW may use a little more modern version?) and the weight. I would be happy to do a .eng file for this locomotive. In many ways it will behave like a GE U30C as the traction motors are very similar. I will check another site for more data, I think it is available.
Thanks,

Mar-31-02, 05:59 PM (EST) 3. "RE: MLW M-630 Specs" LAST EDITED ON Mar-31-02 AT 06:01 PM (EST)Power 2235kW
MTE 98000pounds 435.9kN
CTE 91750pounds 408.1kN
numwheels braking, 12
numwheels traction, 5
Maximum dynamic brake force 293.4kN @ 23mph
Typical ballasted weight 176.9t
Adheasion line (0.24 0.49 1.8 0)
The 251E has a faster "DieselEngineMaxRPMChangeRate( 45 )" than GE counterparts. I think Alco tended to rate the 251 a little more generously than GE did the 7 FDL 16 (power was probably rounded up).
Max current was 1600-1700 amps with green (continuous) up to 1200 amps. This would occur at 9-10 mph.
Friction line
2050N/m/s 0 .7mph 20.25N/m/s 1.8

You almost had mail. I did not set the size or lights, but the physics ought to be good.
Bob
I tried to email you but it was returned undeliverable. If you send me an email, I will return it with an .eng file.

Yours came back because Rogers Cable had to change my @home.com to @rogers.com when Excite went belly up.Richard Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-01-02, 01:32 PM (EST) 7. "RE: MLW M-630 Specs" I will probably build both files. The C636 was a little different in the body than a C630, but would be a fairly simple modification for a designer, not for me. The .eng file is easy to modify to either version.
