Mar-29-02, 06:11 PM (EST) "Schnabel" http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/User_files/3ca4f2e364245d9e.html made some progress, total polys somwhere in the 20 grand area spread over 7 different cars, shouldn't slow MSTS too much, still deciding on 3d trucks etc. probably 2-3 wks before its done. By the way it'll be in a livery of my own design to avoid logo or copyright infringement issues........Lemme know if there's interest in this thing Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-30-02, 03:37 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Schnabel" One other issue that comes up is that these long cars have real trouble in MSTS going around some switches and tighter curves...so there may be nowhere you can run them in some routes....also I have noticed on my F38 flatcar I finished that the 45 degree yard curves will not let the wheels as one unit go around them and splitting it into two units per truck did not help...just too tight for that many wheels.Rick Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-30-02, 08:35 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Schnabel" I've ran this car on MP,EMRR and PO&N5 mainlines and yards and the only real problem I have is on the sharper curves where the ends of the center section overhang quite a bit and it is kinda tight (need more throttle to get through them). But as it is a specialty type car and is not usually used in such tight places due to its size anyway. I agree with you it wont be used much in normal ops but its just something else to drag around the route. I'll run it around today and take some shots and show you what I mean. Thanks for the interest Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
