Mar-26-02, 07:37 PM (EST) "regarding foreign stuff." LAST EDITED ON Mar-26-02 AT 07:42 PM (EST)1. I reecently downloaded some italian vans from the file library and noticed, THEY HAVE AUTOMATIC COUPLERS!! I dont think thats very accurate regarding the fact every rail system (not including the North American ones) use the chain system. Ive seen some with automatic and chan couplers. How do you do that? I wanna fix these vans! The newer release of the Mallard by Peter Harvey has this double-coupler system as well.2. I have been unable to locate any British steam freight locomotives, unless the locomotives with names are used for both passenger and freight services i.e. BR B17 Nottingham Forest. I would like to find some. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

You can alter the coupler type in the .eng and .wag files. Just open em up with wordpad and have a look for the line that defines the coupler type.If you want the double coupler type then have a look at the stock you mentioned find the relevant lines and you can do a cut and paste into the files for the cars you want to change.Best Regards,

92200 Evening Star was the last steam engine made in the UK.
You may actually find these on this site.!!!!!

>is a damn fine train Yeah! Damned fine if you like standing up for the whole trip!! Looks great on the outside, but they wasted so much space on the inside that there aren't enough seats to sit everybody down! I travel on them from the Midlands to Manchester, and they replaced 10 Coach trains, with these pieces of crud running just four coaches and one of those four comprises entirely buffet car and toilets! they din't even increase the number of trains to compensate, go figure!. Far as I'm concerned they're a wonderful triumph of design over function.P.S No those aren't Buckeyes, Buckeyes are what in the US are called Knuckle Couplers.Best Regards,

Mar-27-02, 05:54 PM (EST) 9. "RE: regarding foreign stuff." Code slice failed, after i monkeyed with the .eng file to make it a universal coupler it screwed up the whole tender, so i had to re-install it into my trainset folder. Mr. Peter HArvey, what did you do to compensate for this? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

lone gunmanIm not quite sure what you have done but basically I have only tried the double couplers on Locos and Tenders its not really that hard or I wouldnt have bothered with it. Are you trying to change the Mallard or another Loco if its another loco make sure you insert the code into the wag file of the Tender as well as the Loco. You know I havnt even bother to try dual couplers on a carriage or a wagon. Im not sure if it works on anything other than Locos and tenders.Did you use wordpad to do the editing. Not Notepad.Ps my B1s are classified as mixed traffic locos.email me if you like with more details.harveype@tpg.com.au

Apr-01-02, 02:24 AM (EST) 13. "RE: regarding foreign stuff." Someone buggered up neatly RE: Pendennis Castle. Kudzu/Micro-shaft gave the GWR train automatic couplers when the only train in the UK to have them were the LNER's A4 class (they were also equipped with chain couplers).BigDave Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-01-02, 05:03 AM (EST) 14. "RE: regarding foreign stuff." Well That was a bit of a fluke I only did that so the less skilled user could pull either chain or automatic rolling stock with out having to mess about to much, didnt actually know that A4s where fitted with both.Peter Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
