Mar-09-02, 01:21 PM (EST) ""Shining Time Station" loco..?" LAST EDITED ON Mar-09-02 AT 01:23 PM (EST)At the end of the show (where that sappy song comes in..), what was the steam engine seen crossing the countryside at high speed? Was it a Class J 4-8-4, or the ESE? All i know is that it was streamlined!

Mar-09-02, 01:52 PM (EST) 1. "RE: "Shining Time Station" loco..?" It's been a long time since I've seen the show, but I seem to remember it was UP 844, a 4-8-4 of class FEF-3 (I think). This locomotive was doing a lot of excursion work into the early '80s as I recall. If the train behind it was mostly yellow (which I seem to remember it was), then this is the loco... -Phil Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

"RE: "Shining Time Station" loco..?" i dont know, but i used to watch the show and i distinctly remember a Chessie steamer. it was either a RDG T-1 or it was C&O 614, but i think it was a one episode shot and not the everyday credits.Message Areas - ""Shining Time Station" loco..?" – image 1 Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-09-02, 07:46 PM (EST) 3. "RE: "Shining Time Station" loco..?" Here is what it is. At the end of the show credits was the 8444 UP 4-8-4 or has we know it the 844. But in songs and such they would have the Chessie Steam, N&W 611 and 1218, and tones of other steam trains. I hope this will help. I watched this show when I was little and I KNOW 100% I am RIGHT. Thanks, ADAM Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-16-02, 10:06 PM (EST) 8. "RE: "Shining Time Station" loco..?" Hi Blade2Rather than complaining about the "crappy" Thomas someone went
to the trouble of making for you and anyone else to use with
no charge why don't you learn how to make a better one yourself! On soapbox ...I could go on commenting about all those (not pointing at anyone
in particular) who figure it's their right to expect free work
to be done when they ask for it (sometimes not even nicely). It would be different if we were paying for these great FREE
addons, then perhaps there might be the occassional time we
might have a justifiable complaint (such as about the bugs that
came with TrainSim).I have quite a fleet of various locos and rolling stock and I
feel I have no right to complain about any of them. Perhaps, I
might offer suggestions but because they were GIVEN to us, we
should be thankful for all of them. If you don't like a
particular piece of equipment, don't complain, either do a better
one yourself, offer the author constructive criticism or just
delete it but don't openly criticise. It might be someone's
first attempt and you may be discouraging someone who in a year
or two might just be able to make the best FREE whatever if there
is support instead of criticism.... Off the soapbox, thanks for listeningGaryG

Mar-19-02, 04:02 AM (EST) 10. "RE: "Shining Time Station" loco..?" As a busy modeller, I agree that constructive criticism is welcome and helpful. As a rule, when I look back on any model I've made, usually the work of many hours, I see things I'd like to change, or should have changed. The knowledge gained is put into the next project. I am never 100% satisfied at the end of a project, but you move on.Often an independent observer (read that - other user/downloader) will pick up on something you've missed. Sometimes you have to compromise for technical reasons, but you are learning new techniques all the time.Don't let the computer WIN! Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-19-02, 03:52 AM (EST) 9. "RE: "Shining Time Station" loco..?" Bill and Ben!? Many, many, years ago I had a Bill & Ben annual given to me. Many more years after that the show appeared on TV here (B&W days) and I've never recovered from the trauma of discovering what a couple of incomprehensible idiots they were. Man, they musta been smoking some of the strange plants* in the glass-house *Electric puhaDon't let the computer WIN! Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
